First of all, good morning and thank you for coming.

The reason that T.W.U. Local 513 is calling this conference is in regards to the fact that tomorrow, April 15, 2008; there is a probability that American Airlines executives will be taking their bonuses.

Our concern is solely for the future of this airline. These corporate executives are making decisions that directly affect the future of our company. Their decision to take these bonuses is not commensurate with what is best for American Airlines and our future.

Five years ago this company was facing bankruptcy. The T.W.U. along with their brothers and sisters at the APA and the APFA agreed to concessionary givebacks that saved American Airlines from going bankrupt. In 2003 the company promised their employees that when we get back to profitability, EVERYONE will share the gain. Well last year a select few top executives shared over 200 million dollars between themselves.

Well, a year later those same executive are in position to do the same thing.

The decision these executives make will affect the lives of all American Airlines employees.

Local 513 is here to tell the executives at American Airlines to share the gain. AA made a promise to ALL their employees in 2003:

“If there is a gain it needs to be SHARED”
